At-Home Sleep Testing — No Lab, No Overnight Stay
Think you might have sleep apnea but not ready for an overnight stay in a hospital lab? You don't need one. Dr. Ousley provides a clinically validated at-home sleep test that you complete in your own bed — and results are interpreted by a board-certified sleep physician before any treatment begins.

Signs You Should Get Tested
Sleep apnea is significantly underdiagnosed. Many people live with it for years without knowing. You should consider a sleep test if you experience any of the following:
-
Loud or frequent snoring
-
Waking up unrefreshed after a full night's sleep
-
Morning headaches
-
Dry mouth or sore throat upon waking
-
Gasping or choking during sleep — reported by a partner
-
Excessive daytime fatigue or falling asleep during the day
-
Difficulty concentrating or memory problems
-
Teeth grinding or jaw clenching
-
Waking up frequently during the night
-
Mouth breathing — especially at night

At-Home Sleep Test vs. Lab Sleep Study
Lab Sleep Study
-
Requires overnight hospital or clinic stay
-
Unfamiliar environment — harder to fall asleep naturally
-
Multiple wires and sensors attached to your body
-
Typically more expensive
-
Scheduling can take weeks
At-Home Test
-
Sleep in your own bed
-
Natural sleep environment produces more accurate results for most patients
-
Simple wrist device — minimal equipment
-
Often covered by insurance
-
Results available quickly
-
Provided and coordinated directly through Dr. Ousley's office
At-home sleep testing is appropriate for most patients suspected of having obstructive sleep apnea. In some cases — particularly when other sleep disorders are suspected — an in-lab study may be recommended by your physician.
What The Sleep Test
Evaluates
The at-home sleep test measures key indicators of sleep-disordered breathing while you sleep in your own environment:
-
Breathing pauses and apnea episodes
-
Blood oxygen levels throughout the night
-
Heart rate patterns
-
Snoring frequency and intensity
-
Body position during sleep
-
Sleep stages and disruptions
Results are reviewed by a board-certified sleep physician who determines whether you have mild, moderate, or severe obstructive sleep apnea — and at what level treatment is recommended.
